Volunteer
The lifeblood of any non-profit organization is the passion and support of its volunteers. Música del Sol thrives thanks to the help of, among many others, its students' parents, high school student interns, and involved schools' administrations.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the program in any capacity, we are currently looking for volunteers in a few specific areas.
Student interns
We are always seeking self-motivated high school students in the Albuquerque area to help twice a week with rehearsals. More information is available here.
Photography intern
For the 2008-09 season, we are currently seeking a high school student to work as a photography intern and help assemble, among other materials, a program brochure, yearbook, and end-of-the-year commemorative slideshow.
Although the position will be unpaid, we can offer some unparalleled benefits to a qualified high school photography student, including, but not limited to the following:
- Credited publication on our website, musicadelsol.org
- Credited publication in all program brochures and publicity pamphlets
- Approved community service to fill your school’s year-long requirement
- Experience working with a designer/copy writer in formulating photographic concepts
- Experience working with and photographing active elementary schoolers
To qualify for this position, you must:
- Be a student at a local high school
- Have experience in photography
- Commit to attending concerts and rehearsals at the specified dates
The application for this position will be available online within the next week. If you have questions, feel free to contact the Artistic Director, Jacqueline Cieslak.
Parent volunteers
We are always seeking involved parents to help organize events and concerts. We need help setting up food tables (and cleaning up afterwards) and organizing 50+ Música del Sol students around the concert times. If you are interested in helping with this kind of work, please contact the Executive Director, Patrick Clark, most easily reachable by phone at 505.247.1445.
Other?
If you are interested in helping the program in some other capacity beyond what is listed here, feel free to contact us. The best way for our program to grow is by enlisting the help of talented individuals with good ideas.
To volunteer with the day-to-day side of the program (teaching, organizing students, setting up for performances, etc.), contact Patrick Clark, most easily reachable by phone at 505.247.1445.
To volunteer with the administrative side of the program (web design, promotional materials, t-shirt distribution, etc.), contact Jacqueline Cieslak.
