Interns
In addition to a teacher, Música del Sol employs two student interns at each school. These are advanced high school students who are proficient on at least one string instrument and work under close supervision of the teacher. Typical intern tasks include assisting the teacher in tuning instruments, circulating throughout the orchestra during class time to coach individuals on proper instrument technique, answering questions about the music, and providing supervision and assistance during the snack break.

Interested in helping?
We can use violin, viola, and cello players. Bilingual Spanish/English or Vietnamese/English students are especially encouraged to apply. Positions will be assigned to qualified student applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Interns must be able to provide their own transportation and attend two 90-minute rehearsals per week. See the rehearsal times at the various schools here.
Please review the application form, front and back, with your parents/guardians before committing to the program. As this is a student teaching position, commitment is expected for an entire semester — either Fall, Spring, or both. Each intern is also expected to attend a final combined concert in May.
